Date: 11 May 2026 from Noon to 12.45 PM (UK time)
We were delighted to co-organise with Aston University and the Higher Education Research and Innovation Department from the French Embassy a webinar on “Machine Intelligence vs. Human Expertise: How Organisations Fall into the AI Trust Gap”.
We were honoured to welcome Professor Shannon Vallor, Baillie Gifford Chair in the Ethics of Data and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh, and a leading voice at the intersection of philosophy and technology.
Drawing on insights from her latest book, The AI Mirror: How to Reclaim Our Humanity in an Age of Machine Thinking, Professor Vallor examined how AI, robotics, and data-driven systems are reshaping not only our workplaces but also our moral character and human capabilities. Her talk challenged participants to look beyond efficiency and performance metrics, and to consider what it truly means to cultivate ethical, responsible, and human-centred approaches to AI in organisations today.
This webinar opened a valuable space for reflection on the role each of us — as individuals, leaders, and institutions — can play in shaping a future where technological progress goes hand in hand with moral progress.
